Johnny was jumped by Socs about four months before the book began and was severely injured. His hair was always greasy, and he wore a dark t-shirt with a sky-blue denim jacket and jeans. He always had a nervous, suspicious look in his eyes.' Johnny reminded Ponyboy of a little puppy that had been kicked too many times. He had big black eyes in a dark tanned face his hair was jet-black and heavily greased and combed to the side, but it was so long that it fell in shaggy bangs across his forehead. The more friends you have now the better.Ponyboy described Johnny as 'Smaller than the rest, with a slight build. Stand up for yourself, don't let people walk over you, make good friends, ones that won't get you into trouble.

What adivice do yu have for any young people who are on the verge of becoming an adult?Дon't get into fights, don't drink til you can't see straight, don't walk around at night by yourself without someone there, listen in school, get a job. Happiness is having people who care enough about you to die, if you die aswell. Happiness is coming come to a loving family, not necessarily your mother amnd father, but to people who care enough about you to hide you when your in trouble, people who will watch your back and stand up for you when things go wrong. My perfect day, would be coming home from school, or the movies, or from being out with the gang and coming home to my parents, and they'd run up to me and hug me so tightly I couldn't breathe, and told me they loved me and apologised for all the bad things they've done to me. The little church we hid in, because it was quiet, and it wasn't surrounded by Socs or my parents, it was just nice. What is your favorite place in the world? Why?

He was there for me, and he talked me out of stupid things I'd say I wanted to do. Ponyboy, because after all the time on the run from the police we got closer, and he actually understands me more than alot of people. Which person in your life is most important to you? Why? So then I'd never of got jumped, I wouldn't be so quiet or scared, I wouldn't of been carrying the knife. I'd stay at home, or go to Ponyboys, I wouldn't go walking around. I'd change ever going out that night, the night I got jumped. If you could change one event that has occurred in your past, what would this be? why? I just want them to care about me enough to actually be concerned about where I go & what I do. What is one thing that you hope for in the future?ДЇor my parents to actually care about me, they might hurt me, and hate my guts, but I will always love them.

I'm afraid one day I'm going to come home, and there going to waiting for me, like always but there going to take it further than just beating me. My parents.I know they hate me, they make it quite clear but I'm still afraid of them. I was meant to just hurt him enough to stop him from drowning Ponyboy but I killed him. I was just so scared, I thought Ponyboy was going to die, I knew they would of killed him if they wanted too. I didn't mean to kill him, I honestly didn't.

It might not of been a great way to do it but I still did it. Instead of letting them push me around and hurt me, instead of letting them hurt my friends, I did something about it.
